iiii. How to add a new eye color

Here will be a first simple change to Vector's custom firmware, adding a new eye color to Vector!

How do?

  1. Open up the diode-os-victor folder in VSCode.
  2. Open up engine/components/settingsCommManager.cpp
  3. Modify line 66 and add the name of your eye color to the end (ex: ROBOT_RED) and save.
  4. Open up resources/config/engine/eye_color_config.json
  5. Copy one of the existing entries and paste it below the last entry, set the name of the eye color to the name you chose in step 2.
  6. Set the hue/saturation to your desired values and save it. (You can preview them in vector-ip:8889/consolevars in the face tab)
  7. Open up tools/protobuf/gateway/public/settings.proto
  8. Go to line ~78, add a new entry with your eye color and give it a number of the next number in the series and save.
  9. Open resources/webserver/demoEngine.html
  10. Go to line ~153 and add a new eye color entry into the list and save.
  11. Commit your changes, then build and deploy Victor onto a bot and test out your eye color!
